My Culinary Journey (The “Why”)
My love for food is a passport, and my kitchen is my favorite destination. It all started in my grandma’s kitchen in Indonesia, learning the complex, bold flavors of rendang and the perfect spice balance for nasi goreng.
As I grew, my curiosity exploded. I dove headfirst into Chinese cooking, getting obsessed with the ‘wok hei’ (the fiery breath of the wok) and the delicate art of dim sum. Then came my European phase, where I fell in love with the rustic simplicity of Italian pasta and the rich, buttery techniques of French sauces.
And of course, there’s American food—the ultimate comfort. From mastering the perfect juicy burger to baking a decadent Mississippi mud pie, it’s the food that feels like a warm hug.
Lezata was born because my friends were always asking, “How did you make that?!” I realized I had a knack for breaking down these “intimidating” global recipes into simple, easy-to-follow steps. This blog is my way of sharing that with you.
My food philosophy is simple: Use good ingredients, don’t be afraid to make a mess, and always cook with a little bit of love.
